You will operate and maintain bakery equipment, develop new recipes, and ensure strict hygiene and safety in a busy kitchen environment. Strong teamwork and creativity are essential to our bakery's continued success.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification or certification in baking and pastry arts from a recognised institution.
• Minimum 2-3 years of professional bakery experience.
• Strong knowledge of baking principles, fermentation processes and their chemical interactions.
• Proficiency with commercial baking equipment.
• Commitment to hygiene and food safety standards.
• Ability to work in a warm kitchen environment and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and mixing dough and batter according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Operating and maintaining bakery equipment including ovens, mixers, and proofing chambers.
• Shaping, moulding and decorating breads, pastries and other baked items to specification.
• Managing baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent product quality and appearance.
• Creating artisan breads using sourdough and traditional methods.
• Developing and testing new recipes and flavour combinations.
• Maintaining strict hygiene and food safety standards.
• Monitoring inventory of baking ingredients and reporting stock levels.
• Collaborating with the team to meet daily production targets.
• Troubleshooting baking issues and implementing quality improvements.
