Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Baker or similar baking role in cafe/bakery setting.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients.

• Proficient in operating standard baking equipment.

Responsibilities

About the role

Toh Soon Cafe SDN BHD is seeking a talented and passionate Baker to join our team in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in creating high-quality baked goods that form the heart of our cafe operations. As a Baker, you will be responsible for producing fresh, delicious breads, pastries, and baked items daily, ensuring our customers receive exceptional quality products that keep them coming back. This role is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence and meeting the consistent demands of our valued clientele.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards

Ensure all baked products meet health, safety and food hygiene regulations at all times

Maintain and manage inventory of baking ingredients, ordering supplies as needed and tracking stock levels

Operate and maintain baking equipment including ovens, mixers, and other machinery in optimal working condition

Prepare dough and batters using precise measurements and mixing techniques to achieve consistent results

Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure products are baked to perfection

Decorate and finish baked items according to specifications and presentation standards

Collaborate with the cafe team to ensure timely production and delivery of baked goods

Maintain a clean and organised baking station and storage areas

Follow all company policies and procedures related to food safety and workplace conduct

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar baking role, preferably in a cafe or bakery environment

Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients and food preparation methods

Ability to read and follow recipes accurately whilst maintaining consistency in product quality

Proficiency in operating standard baking equipment and machinery

Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently during peak hours

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety

Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks in a warm baking environment

Strong work ethic and reliability with punctuality

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Flexibility to work early morning shifts, as baking often begins before cafe opening hours

Relevant qualifications or certifications in baking or food handling are advantageous
