Job summary

OCBC Malaysia invites you to join as an Application Support Specialist. You will provide Level 2 and 3 support for core banking applications, ensuring incident resolution and serving as a bridge between users and technical teams. You will work with cross-border colleagues, understand system design, and perform impact analysis to implement effective changes. The role offers on-site opportunities at Menara OCBC or Cyberjaya, with 24x7 standby on rotation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in application support.
• Banking IT environment experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 and 3 production support for bank applications.
• Perform problem investigation – root cause analysis, solution definition, development and implementation.
• Understand system design and provide impact analysis for changes.
• Perform enhancements and defect fixes at code level when needed.
• Manage system risks and propose improvements to mitigate risks.
• Work closely with users to understand their needs and issues.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide application support and enhancement for applications used in the bank.
• Perform Level 2 and 3 of production support
• Perform problem investigation – problem identification, root cause analysis, solution definition, development, and implementation.
• Understand the system design and provide impact analysis to any changes.
• Perform enhancement and defect fixing at code level.
• Manage system risks and conjure improvements to mitigate and manage risks
• Work closely with users to understand their needs & issues.

Job Requirements:

• Application Technical Support on either of the following:
• Applications based on Java technology and WebLogic/ Websphere/ JBoss OR
• Applications based on .NET technology and Microsoft IIS
• Platform Knowledge on Linux/ UNIX OR Windows Server.
• Database knowledge on MS SQL OR Oracle database.
• Knowledge in Banking IT environment will be a plus.
• 24 x 7 offsite standby support on rotational basis.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in the same capacity.
• Pleasant personality with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive and team player.
• Able to work with cross border colleagues.
