Qualifications

• The candidate holds a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Automation, or related.
• 3–5 years of experience in automation systems, machine building, manufacturing engineering, or system integration.
• Experience in industrial automation, machine building, semiconductor manufacturing, warehouse automation or robotics is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into engineering concepts and system solutions.
• Prepare technical proposals, layouts, and solution presentations to support business development.
• Support cost estimations, equipment specs, and technical documentation for projects.
• Develop mechanical layouts and conceptual designs using AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

Position Overview

The Application Engineer is responsible for translating customer requirements into practical engineering solutions through technical proposal development, system concept design, and project engineering support. This role plays a key part in ensuring solutions are technically feasible, commercially viable, and aligned with customer requirements and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand customer technical requirements and translate them into engineering concepts and system solutions.
• Prepare technical proposals, engineering layouts, system concepts, and solution presentations to support business development activities.
• Support the preparation of cost estimations, equipment specifications, and technical documentation for project proposals.
• Develop mechanical layouts and conceptual designs using tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks where required.
• Coordinate with internal teams including mechanical design, software engineering, and project management to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible.
• Support project implementation activities including design review, system configuration, FAT/SAT preparation, and commissioning support where necessary.
• Assist in improving proposal turnaround time and engineering response to customer technical inquiries.
• Maintain proper documentation of engineering concepts, proposals, and project technical information.

Key Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in automation systems, machine building, manufacturing engineering, or system integration will be an advantage.
• Experience in industrial automation, machine building, semiconductor manufacturing, warehouse automation/material handling systems, robotics, or smart manufacturing systems will be an advantage.

Technical / Functional Expertise

• Basic understanding of industrial automation systems, machinery, or manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with mechanical design tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience in technical proposal preparation or solution development is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of cost estimation, equipment specification preparation, engineering layouts, system concepts, and technical documentation.
• Understanding of design review, system configuration, FAT/SAT preparation, and commissioning support activities.
