Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Business Development & Sales Manager – Telecom Systems to drive growth across the Automation & Communication portfolio. You will lead sales strategies, manage key customer relationships across utilities, EPCs, and industrial clients, and negotiate contracts while coordinating with regional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Telecoms or related engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience, with a proven track record in selling telecom

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
• 10+ years in business development, sales, or account management in telecom or utilities.
• Proven experience selling Telecom Systems, Protection & Control, SCADA, Substation Automation, or UC solutions.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Ability to build relationships and deliver growth.
• Excellent communication and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies to grow Telecom Systems business and revenue targets.
• Identify and convert new opportunities across utilities, EPCs, industrial customers, and channel partners.
• Lead customer engagements, presentations, negotiations, and contract discussions.
• Manage sales pipeline, forecasts, proposals, and CRM tracking.
• Collaborate with account managers, bid teams, product specialists, and regional stakeholders to secure new business.
• Support risk management, bid/no-bid decisions, and governance processes.
• Champion Health, Safety and Environmental culture aligned with Hitachi Energy's Zero Harm.
