Job summary

Anton Paar seeks a Regional Application & Product Specialist for extrusion and polymer characterization, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to support sales, distributors, and customers across Asia Pacific. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on training and collaboration across multiple teams.

You will conduct testing, method development, and demonstrations, develop technical reports, and contribute to product launches while traveling within the APAC region as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with polymer processing, extrusion, rheology, material characterization, or food processing technologies.
• Strong presentation and communication skills with experience delivering technical training.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the Asia Pacific region.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical expert and point of contact for extrusion applications, providing advanced support to customers, distributors, and internal teams.
• Conduct sample testing, method development, and process optimization to ensure reliable, reproducible extrusion results for APAC subsidiaries and customers.
• Plan and execute (virtual) demonstrations and technical training for sales, application, and customers (onsite and virtual).
• Collaborate with product specialists, service, marketing and sales to prepare application notes, technical reports, and case studies.
• Responsible for managing the regional Testing and Training laboratory in the APAC Technical Centre.
• Plan activities and events, materials production and distribution, and resources to ensure efficient operations.
• Represent Anton Paar at technical conferences, exhibitions, and seminars as a subject matter expert in extrusion and polymer characterization.
• Support APAC subsidiaries in installations and training for complex setups.
• Develop technical materials, provide feedback on training materials, and support new product introductions through validation studies.
• Participate in competitive benchmarking and technology evaluation to maintain competitive advantage.
