Job summary

Lynas Rare Earths Limited in Kuantan is seeking an Application Support Analyst to maintain and enhance its enterprise application portfolio, ensuring reliable, secure and integrated systems aligned with business needs.

You will support diverse business functions, contribute to digital transformation, and assist in system upgrades, UAT, and documentation. Strong SQL, API and integration knowledge is required, with ITIL exposure valued. On-site in Kuantan, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5 years of working experience in enterprise application support, business systems, or application administration.
• Experience with LIMS, ERP, Microsoft 365, SharePoint or Power Platform is an advantage.
• Knowledge of SQL, databases, APIs, and system integrations.
• Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITIL) practices and industrial environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for business applications to ensure reliable operations.
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate timely resolution with users and vendors.
• Support users across departments including Laboratory, Manufacturing, Mining, Finance, HR, HSE, Procurement and Supply Chain.
• Perform routine admin tasks: user access, master data, reporting, workflows, system parameters.
• Assist in enhancements, upgrades, patches, testing (UAT), deployment and post-implementation support.
• Prepare system documentation, SOPs, knowledge base articles, and user guides.
• Provide end-user training and support to promote effective system utilisation.
• Support governance activities including licensing, vendor coordination, and change management.

Job description

An opportunity exists for 1 Application Support Analyst to join our IT Department. He/she will be responsible will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Lynas’s enterprise application portfolio to ensure business systems are reliable, secure, integrated, and aligned with operational and business requirements. The role supports enterprise applications across multiple business functions and contributes to system enhancements, digital transformation initiatives, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for business applications to ensure reliable and uninterrupted business operations.
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate timely resolution with business users, internal IT teams, and software vendors.
• Support business users across departments including Laboratory, Manufacturing, Mining, Finance, HR, HSE, Procurement, and Supply Chain.
• Perform routine application administration activities such as user access management, master data maintenance, reporting, workflow configuration, and system parameter updates where applicable.
• Assist in application enhancements, upgrades, patches, testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment, and post-implementation support.
• Prepare system documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), knowledge base articles, and user guides.
• Provide end-user training and support to promote effective system utilisation and user adoption.
• Support application governance activities including software licensing, vendor coordination, and change management.

Requirements of the successful candidate:

• Degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline with 5 years’ working experience in enterprise application support, business systems, or application administration.
• Experience with LIMS, ERP, Microsoft 365, SharePoint or Power Platform is an advantage.
• Knowledge of SQL, databases, APIs, and system integrations.
• Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITIL) practices and experience in manufacturing, mining, laboratory, or other industrial environments will be an advantage.
• Positive working attitude toward responsibility and task given.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to confidently interact with people of all cultures at all levels.
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Additional language will be an advantage.
• Must be willing to work in Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia.
