Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel Malaysia is seeking a skilled Warehouse Operations Lead to manage inbound/outbound activities, inventory control, and value-added services. You will drive productivity, lead supervisors, and uphold safety and quality standards across the warehouse.

Ideal candidates bring 5–8 years in warehouse/logistics with leadership experience, deep knowledge of operations KPIs, and a track record of cost management and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
• 5–8 years of warehouse or logistics operations experience with leadership/managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, workforce planning, and operational KPIs.
• Experience leading teams, managing customer requirements, handling escalations.
• Understanding of cost management, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Leadership, communication, problem-solving, stakeholder management; experience with WMS preferred.

• Lead daily warehouse operations ensuring productivity, inventory accuracy, order accuracy, service levels, and SOP compliance.
• Optimize warehouse space, manpower, resources, and workflows while maintaining readiness.
• Lead and develop warehouse supervisors and teams including performance management and training.
• Maintain strong safety and compliance culture; adhere to policies and labor/workplace requirements.
• Manage customer relationships, KPIs, escalations, and service performance; support new customer implementations.
• Oversee warehouse costs and budgets; drive cost-saving initiatives and minimize inventory losses.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence; support expansion and long-term planning.

Lead and manage warehouse operations to ensure efficient receipt, storage, inventory management, value-added services, and dispatch of customer goods while maintaining operational excellence, safety, quality, and compliance standards. Drive productivity, continuous improvement, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction through effective resource management, process control, and performance management. Collaborate with customers, transport providers, operational teams, and support functions to deliver service excellence and support business growth objectives.

How you create impact

This role is responsible for the overall management and performance of warehouse operations, covering inbound, outbound, inventory control, value-added services, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse operations and ensure productivity, inventory accuracy, order accuracy, service levels, and SOP compliance.
• Optimize warehouse space, manpower, resources, and workflows while maintaining operational readiness.
• Lead and develop warehouse supervisors and operational teams, including performance management, workforce planning, training, succession planning, and employee engagement.
• Maintain a strong safety and compliance culture, ensuring adherence to company policies and labor and workplace requirements.
• Manage customer relationships, KPIs, escalations, and service performance, while supporting new customer implementations and business development initiatives.
• Oversee warehouse operational costs and budgets, drive cost-saving initiatives, support accurate billing, and minimize inventory losses, damages, and claims.
• Drive continuous improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives, while supporting warehouse expansion, customer onboarding, and long-term operational planning.

What we would like you to bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of warehouse or logistics operations experience, including experience in a leadership or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, workforce planning, and operational KPIs.
• Proven experience in leading teams, managing customer requirements, and handling operational escalations.
• Good understanding of cost management, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with experience using WMS or other logistics systems preferred.
