SBH KIBING SOLAR NEW MATERIALS (M) SDN. BHD. is seeking a skilled Air Conditioning Technician to join our Kota Kinabalu team. This full-time role focuses on installing, maintaining and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration systems for diverse clients.

You will diagnose faults, perform preventative servicing, replace worn components and ensure safety standards are met. A valid driving licence and teamwork are essential for on-site travel.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in air conditioning and refrigeration or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years proven experience in AC/refrigeration.
• Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems and pressure diagnostics.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools, pressure gauges, multimeters and recovery equipment.
• Valid driving licence and own transport for site travel.
• Strong problem-solving, safety and compliance mindset.
• Good communication and professional client interactions.
• Physically fit to work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair AC and refrigeration systems across residential to industrial settings.
• Diagnose faults using testing equipment and diagnose issues quickly.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative servicing of cooling systems.
• Replace worn components including compressors, condensers and refrigerant lines.
• Charge and recover refrigerant in line with environmental regulations.
• Test systems to meet performance and safety standards.
• Provide technical advice to clients on operation and upkeep.
• Keep detailed service logs and work records.
• Respond to emergency service calls promptly.
• Adhere to health, safety regulations and company policies.

About the role

SBH KIBING SOLAR NEW MATERIALS (M) SDN. BHD. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Air Conditioning Technician to join our team in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in maintaining, installing, and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration systems for our clients. As an Air Conditioning Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all cooling systems operate efficiently and safely, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and the company's reputation for excellence in the Trades & Services sector.

Key responsibilities

Install, maintain and repair air conditioning and refrigeration systems in residential, commercial and industrial settings

Diagnose system faults using appropriate testing equipment and tools

Perform routine maintenance checks and preventative servicing on cooling systems

Replace worn or damaged components including compressors, condensers, evaporators and refrigerant lines

Charge and recover refrigerant in compliance with environmental regulations

Test systems to ensure they meet performance standards and safety requirements

Provide technical advice to clients regarding system operation and maintenance

Keep accurate records of all work completed and maintain detailed service logs

Respond promptly to emergency service calls and repair requests

Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies on job sites

What we're looking for

A recognised qualification or certification in air conditioning and refrigeration technology or equivalent practical experience

Proven experience working as an air conditioning or refrigeration technician, ideally 2-5 years in the industry

Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems and pressure diagnostics

Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, pressure gauges, multimeters and refrigeration recovery equipment

A valid driving licence and reliable transport to travel between job sites

Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards and compliance

Good communication skills and a professional approach to customer interactions

Physical fitness and ability to work in various environmental conditions

Knowledge of local environmental regulations regarding refrigerant handling is advantageous
