Job summary

Maxis is seeking an AI Engineer Intern in Malaysia to gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise AI, GenAI, and automation initiatives. You will work with engineers, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver digital solutions.

The role covers AI agents, GenAI prototyping, automation, Salesforce/RPA support, data validation, and agile collaboration. Starting November for 6+ months, open to undergraduates and recent graduates seeking industry experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recent graduate in CS/IT/DS or related field.
• Basic programming concepts in Python/JavaScript.
• Interest in AI, GenAI, automation, and digital transformation.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• AI Agents Development: support building and configuring AI agents and testing AI-driven solutions.
• GenAI initiatives: assist prompt engineering, workflow integration and prototype use cases.
• Automation & Process Optimisation: design and document automations using low-code/no-code and RPA.
• Platform & System Support (Salesforce/RPA): test, troubleshoot, and improve system performance.
• Data Analysis & Quality: basic analysis, testing, validation, and performance tracking.
• Agile & Team Collaboration: participate in design discussions and sprint activities with cross-functional teams.

This role offers exposure to real‑world use cases, modern AI tools, and business process automation, while working closely with engineers, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. AI Agents Development Support Assist in building and configuring AI agents to support internal productivity and business use cases. Support testing, validation, and optimisation of AI-driven solutions.
• 2. Generative AI (GenAI) Initiatives Support GenAI initiatives including prompt engineering, workflow integration, and experimentation with LLM-based solutions. Assist in prototyping use cases such as content generation, summarisation, and decision support tools.
• 3. Automation & Process Optimisation Help design, implement, and document business process automations using low-code/no-code platforms and RPA tools. Support efforts to streamline repetitive processes and improve operational efficiency.
• 4. Platform & System Support (Salesforce/RPA) Collaborate with team members on Salesforce and automation platform enhancements. Assist in testing, troubleshooting, and improving system performance.
• 5. Data Analysis & Quality Assurance Perform basic data analysis, testing, and validation to ensure solution accuracy and reliability. Support documentation and tracking of solution performance.
• 6. Agile & Team Collaboration Participate in solution design discussions, sprint activities, and technical documentation. Work closely with cross-functional teams to support project delivery.

Depending on performance and capability, the intern may have the opportunity to contribute to high‑impact initiatives such as developing AI‑powered assistants, prototyping GenAI‑driven solutions, or enhancing automation workflows, gaining exposure to end‑to‑end solution development and innovation.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Data Science, or a related field
• Basic understanding of programming concepts (e.g. Python, JavaScript, or similar)
• Strong interest in AI, Generative AI, automation, or digital transformation
• Analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn
• Good to Have Exposure to AI/ML concepts, LLMs, or prompt engineering
• Familiarity with automation tools, RPA platforms, or workflow builders
• Basic knowledge of Salesforce, APIs, or cloud platforms
• Experience with low-code/no-code tools or relevant academic or personal projects
