Job summary

Solartech in Selangor is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee financial accounting operations at our Kota Damansara office. This full-time role focuses on IFRS-compliant reporting and ensuring accuracy across the financial close processes.

You will lead day-to-day accounting, manage relationships with auditors, and mentor junior staff while driving process improvements and robust internal controls in a fast-moving green solutions business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA/ICAEW/CPA Malaysia or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR and GL maintenance.
• Prepare and review IFRS/compliant financial statements and reports.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end close with reconciliations.
• Process invoices, payments, and maintain audit trails.
• Lead preparation of management accounts and financial analysis for internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes.
• Monitor bank accounts and other financial accounts; assist in budgeting and variance analysis.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join our Kota Damansara office in Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and reporting accuracy of Solartech. As Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing financial accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing timely, accurate financial reporting to support informed business decision-making at all levels of the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
• Prepare and review financial statements and reports in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and adjustments
• Process invoices, payments, and expense documentation whilst maintaining proper audit trails and supporting documentation
• Oversee the preparation of management accounts and financial analysis reports for internal stakeholders
• Manage relationships with external auditors and prepare documentation for audit processes
• Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts
• Support the Finance team in budget preparation and variance analysis activities
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff as required, providing guidance and support for their professional development
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional qualification
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ICAEW, CPA Malaysia, or similar recognised body
• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in financial accounting and reporting roles
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and financial systems
• Advanced knowledge of IFRS and Malaysian accounting standards (MFRSs)
• Proven experience in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger operations
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Sound understanding of internal controls, audit requirements, and financial compliance matters
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in the energy, renewable technology, or manufacturing sector is advantageous but not essential
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
