Randstad Malaysia is seeking an Accounting Lead to head the accounting function within a dynamic energy sector. You will drive monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, lead financial reporting, and manage consolidation for the group.

Our client is a well-established, dynamic Energy Division under a prominent public listed group in Malaysia. As they expand their footprint, they are looking for a proactive, driven, and experienced Accounting Lead to head their accounting function, drive process improvements, and ensure robust financial governance.
General Ledger & Financial Reporting:
Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes and prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with MFRS.
Manage group reporting requirements and consolidation activities.
Project Accounting & Cost Control:
Oversee job costing systems, track project revenues/expenses, and analyze budget vs. actual variances alongside project teams.
Ensure accurate cost allocations for overheads, labor, equipment, and materials.
AP, AR & Treasury Management:
Supervise end-to-end Accounts Payable (vendor invoices, retention) and Accounts Receivable (progress billing, collections) functions.
Oversee daily cash flows, treasury reports, bank reconciliations, and manage banking facilities (LC, BG, Forex).
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent. Professional accounting certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, MIA) will be a strong advantage.
Experience: Minimum 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in core accounting functions. Experience in construction, project-based, or energy sectors is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge: Strong foundation in MFRS, local tax laws, SST, and E-invoicing implementations.
Soft Skills:
Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to manage and mentor team members independently.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to interface effectively with internal stakeholders, purchasing teams, auditors, and external banking partners.
Strategic leadership role reporting directly to Senior Management.
