We are seeking a driven and hands‑on Finance & Accounting Manager to lead the finance function and support the company’s growth in the renewable energy sector. This role is responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting and finance operations, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), financial reporting, and compliance. The incumbent will also play a key role in rebuilding and strengthening financial SOPs and internal controls to enhance efficiency and governance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Accounts Receivable (AR)
Oversee billing, collections, customer account reconciliations, and credit control activities.
Monitor aging reports and implement effective collection strategies to improve cash flow.
Work closely with commercial and project teams to resolve billing and collection issues.
2. Accounts Payable (AP)
Manage vendor payments and ensure timely processing of invoices.
Review payment controls and approval processes to maintain compliance and efficiency.
Collaborate closely with Project and Supply Chain Department to support contract administration, payment management, and supplier‑related financial matters.
3. Process Improvement & SOP Development
Review, rebuild, and strengthen accounting and finance SOPs, policies, and internal controls.
Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and operational risks, and implement practical solutions.
Drive finance transformation initiatives, automation, and digitalization projects where applicable.
Establish best practices and ensure consistency across finance operations.
4. Business Partnering & Strategic Support
Manage the full set of accounts, including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, and month‑end/year‑end close.
Develop a strong understanding of the renewable energy business model, project lifecycle, cost drivers, revenue streams, and operational challenges.
Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including operations, project management, procurement, and business development.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic, operational, and business decision‑making.
Support project budgeting, cost monitoring, and profitability analysis to ensure financial control and performance tracking.
Participate in project kick‑offs, vendor reviews, and operational / HODs meetings as the finance representative when necessary.
Support the Head of Finance, Senior Financial Controller or top management with ad hoc financial analysis and business decision support.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives that extend beyond the finance function.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
Ensure team performance aligns with departmental and organizational objectives.
JOB COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENT
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA, CIMA, or equivalent is preferred.
Fluency in English language (Mandarin or Bahasa Malaysia is an added bonus).
Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced expertise in Excel and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of Autocount System will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, with prior external audit experience highly preferred. Experience managing full‑spectrum accounting functions, including AR and AP.
Experience in full‑spectrum accounting, including AR, AP, and GL functions.
Strong knowledge of financial accounting(MPERS), management reporting, taxation, intercompany transactions, and statutory compliance, with the ability to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Experience in audit and construction‑related industries is an advantage, while exposure to renewable energy, engineering, infrastructure, or project based sectors is highly desirable.
Proven ability in process improvement, SOP development, and finance transformation initiatives.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong organizational ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Hands‑on, adaptable, and willing to understand broader business operations beyond traditional finance roles.
