Penang Adventist Hospital is seeking an accomplished finance professional to manage monthly closing, journal entries, and financial reporting. You will maintain GL accounts, perform reconciliations, and highlight variances for management review.
The role requires 2–4 years of accounting experience, proficiency with Excel and ERP systems, and strong analytical skills. The hospital emphasizes quality care and Equal Employment Opportunity.
Prepare and review monthly journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Maintain accurate General Ledger accounts and perform monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, including investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Manage monthly account closing and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Analyse financial statements and highlight significant variances or unusual movements for management review.
Prepare monthly financial reports, accounting schedules, responsibilities reports, and other finance-related reports.
Prepare and submit monthly and annual charity-related reports to relevant parties.
Assist with internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules, supporting documents, and coordinating auditor visits.
Assist with annual tax submissions, including compiling information and supporting documents for tax agents.
Support SST submissions, payments, and refund processes.
Provide accurate accounting information and documentation to auditors, tax agents, and other external parties.
Maintain the Fixed Assets Register as backup support.
Provide backup support for inventory management, including daily inventory monitoring and maintaining inventory item master data in the Hospital Information.
Any other task as assigned by superior.
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in General Ledger functions.
Good knowledge of double-entry accounting and financial reporting.
Familiarity with accounting software/ERP systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
Good time management and organizational abilities.
Able to work independently and meet month-end reporting deadlines.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
