Job summary

Guhring (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an accounting professional to support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold internal controls. The role focuses on accurate financial processing in SAP, effective discrepancy resolution, and collaboration with the Accounts Manager across departments.

Qualifications

• Min. advanced diploma or bachelor's in accounting/finance.
• Experience with SAP (S/4HANA or Business One) is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in Excel for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting operations and monthly closing activities.

• Execute and post financial transactions accurately within SAP.

Job description

You will assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, resolve payment discrepancies, and manage daily accounting operations with a focus on financial accuracy and regulatory compliance. This role involves implementing and monitoring internal control policies and compliance procedures to mitigate financial risks, supporting process improvements and audit preparations as part of your career advancement.

Key responsibilities

Support daily accounting operations and monthly closing activities.

Resolve vendor/customer discrepancies and credit control

Validate payment requests, expense claims, and journal entries to ensure proper segregation of duties and management approvals

Execute and post financial transactions accurately within SAP

Flag discrepancies, workflow bottlenecks, or policy non-compliance to the Accounts Manager

Assist year-end closing activities, management reporting and budget planning activities

Prepare internal/external audit schedules, sample documentation, and financial reconciliations

Participate in implement, monitor, adhere and enforce internal control policies & Compliance and operating procedures to mitigate financial risks, support process improvements, workflow documentation.

About you

min. Advance Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent)

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in general or manufacturing accounting, audit firm, or finance operations

Practical, hands-on experience working with SAP (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, or SAP Business One) will be an added advantage

Demonstrated understanding of internal controls, financial compliance, and risk management principles

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis

Knowledge of statutory reporting, local tax regulations (e.g., SST/GST), statutory reporting and M1-M4 report will be an added advantage

High attention to detail, strong numerical accuracy, and analytical problem-solving skills

Good communication skills to liaise across departments
