We are looking for a responsible, detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Executive to join our growing team. You will be responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, timely payments and collections, and providing management with reliable financial information for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle daily accounting transactions including AP, AR, GL and bank reconciliation.
- Prepare and issue invoices, payment vouchers, receipts and credit/debit notes.
- Monitor customer outstanding balances and collections, and follow up on overdue payments.
- Process supplier invoices and arrange payments according to agreed credit terms.
- Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and documentation.
- Assist in preparing monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and other management reports.
- Monitor company cash flow and highlight potential cash-flow issues to management.
- Assist with monthly closing and year-end audit preparation.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretary, banks and other external parties when required.
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of financial records.
- Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for better cost control.
- Assist management in analysing financial performance and identifying areas for cost savings and improved profitability.
- Ensure accounting practices comply with applicable Malaysian accounting and tax requirements.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- At least 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Good understanding of full-set accounting is an advantage.
- Experience with accounting software such as SQL, AutoCount, UBS or similar.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills.
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Mature, trustworthy and able to handle confidential financial information.
- Experience in an SME or trading/manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
