Job summary

YTL Power International Berhad is seeking an entry-level Accountant to support daily accounting operations in Kuala Lumpur. You will manage the full set of accounts including GL, AP, AR, and monthly reporting, while ensuring proper documentation and authorisations for invoices and transactions.

You will assist in costing and inventory-related tasks, closing activities, and tax compliance, with opportunities to learn and grow in a multi-utility group operating across several countries.

Responsibilities

• Handle full set of accounts (GL, AP, AR) and monthly reporting
• Match invoices and ensure proper supporting documents and authorisations
• Maintain records, documents and filing for accounting entries
• Assist in costing, inventory reports, and stock counting
• Support monthly closing, journal adjustments, and preparation of closing reports
• Assist in audit and tax matters
• Process AP payments including vouchers, cheque issuance, and signatories
• Enter supplier invoices, file documents, and liaise with factory on AP invoices
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations (transfer pricing, SST, direct tax)

Job description

To perform daily accounting operations, handling full set of accounts include GL, AP, AR, monthly reporting, and statements of accounts.

To perform daily accounting operations, handling full set of accounts include GL, AP, AR, monthly reporting, and statements of accounts.

To match invoices and ensure all billings are supported with documents and proper authorizations and reconciliation with vendor’s statement.

To ensure proper maintenance of records, documents and filing to support all accounting entries.

To do all costing & inventory related operation matters, including assist in inventory reports, cost analysis, stock count.

To assist Accountant in monthly closing, journal adjustment, prepare closing report; assist in audit and tax matter.

To do AP payment by dealing with all its daily operation matters, including preparation of payment voucher, cheque issuing, arranging of cheque signing and distribution.

To deal with AP invoice related matters, including key in supplier invoice, filing, liaise with factory for AP invoice matters.

To ensure compliances with accounting standard and tax compliances (transfer pricing, SST and direct tax).

Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Finance/Accountancy or equivalent.

Fresh graduate is encouraged to apply.

Required skills: Microsoft Office Suite.
