Job summary

Tokai Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an Accounts Assistant (AP/AR) to support the finance team in day-to-day accounting operations and maintain records. The role focuses on supplier invoicing, payments, and receivables, with emphasis on accuracy and timely processing.

The ideal candidate holds a diploma or degree in accounting or finance, has 1–2 years in AP/AR, and is proficient in Excel and accounting software. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in AP/AR or general accounting; fresh graduates welcome.
• Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial documentation.
• Good attention to detail, organised, and able to meet deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Proactive and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Process suppliers' invoices, payment vouchers, and related documents.
• Verify invoices against PO, DO, quotations, and other docs.
• Perform invoice matching and obtain proper approvals before payments.
• Maintain records of supplier invoices and outstanding balances.
• Assist in preparing payment schedules and supplier documentation.
• Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on discrepancies.
• Prepare and issue invoices, debit/credit notes, and other billing docs.
• Monitor customer accounts and outstanding balances.
• Follow up on overdue payments and maintain collection records.
• Perform customer account reconciliation and investigate discrepancies.
