Job summary

Modular Scale Sdn Bhd is seeking an Account Assistant to support day‑to‑day accounting operations in a growing cabinetry and interior fit‑out company. The role emphasizes Accounts Payable, payment processing and financial record management within a collaborative team.

You will gain hands‑on experience, work with multiple departments, and contribute to accurate financial reporting in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting preferred; fresh graduates welcome.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
• Knowledge of SQL Accounting System is an advantage.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy in financial records.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily Accounts Payable activities including invoice verification, payment preparation and supplier reconciliations.
• Record supplier invoices and payments in the SQL Accounting System.
• Verify PO/DO/invoices and ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
• Prepare payment vouchers and assist with payments via online banking, transfers or cheques.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and filing of financial documents.
• Assist with month‑end closing, reconciliations and bank statements.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Support SST-related documentation and submissions.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Account Assistant to join our Accounts & Finance team!

In this role, you will support the day-to-day accounting operations, with a focus on Accounts Payable, payment processing and financial record management. You'll have the opportunity to develop your accounting skills, gain hands‑on experience and work closely with different departments in a growing cabinetry and interior fit‑out company.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle daily Accounts Payable activities, including invoice verification, payment preparation and supplier reconciliations.
• Record supplier invoices and payments accurately in the SQL Accounting System.
• Verify and match purchase orders (PO), delivery orders (DO) and invoices to ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
• Prepare payment vouchers and assist with payments via online banking, bank transfers or cheques.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure proper filing of financial documents.
• Assist with month‑end closing, supplier statement reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment‑related matters.
• Support SST‑related documentation and submissions.
• Provide general accounting and administrative support when required.
• Carry out other accounting‑related tasks assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Diploma or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Preferably 1–2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of SQL Accounting System will be an added advantage.
• Good attention to detail, organisational skills and accuracy in handling financial records.
• Responsible, proactive and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Flexible to support additional working hours when required.
