Job summary

Tong & Jack is recruiting an Accounting Executive to maintain accurate financial records and support accounting operations across our head office and outlets. You will handle daily accounting tasks, outlet reconciliations, payments and receivables, month-end closing, and assist with audit and tax activities.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of accounting experience, a degree in accounting/finance, and strong Excel/SQL skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Good understanding of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to investigate discrepancies.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to meet reporting deadlines.
• High integrity, discretion, and a responsible approach to handling financial information.
• Experience in a multi-outlet business, financial services, or pawnshop operations will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Daily Accounting: Record and maintain accurate accounting entries, including receipts, payments, journal entries, and supporting documents.
• Outlet Reconciliation: Reconcile outlet transaction reports, cash balances, and bank movements, and follow up on discrepancies.
• Payments & Receivables: Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and payments, and monitor outstanding balances.
• Month-End Closing: Prepare reconciliations, schedules, and adjustments to support timely closing and financial reporting.
• Audit & Tax Support: Prepare supporting documents and schedules for external auditors, tax agents, and other relevant parties.
• Controls & Documentation: Maintain organised records, follow approval procedures, and recommend improvements to accounting processes.

Your Key Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Candidates pursuing a professional accounting qualification are also welcome.

At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience, Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.

Good understanding of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month-end closing.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL accounting software.
