Job Summary
The Account Officer plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, smooth transaction processing, and compliance with accounting standards. You will handle accounts payable/receivable, cost tracking, reporting, and support budget planning—specifically within the manufacturing environment.
This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, analytical, and ready to grow in a structured, well‑organised finance department.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Transactions & Record‑Keeping
- Record and process invoices, receipts & payments accurately and promptly.
- Maintain general ledger and perform bank reconciliations.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing, especially for raw materials, production costs, and factory‑related expenses.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process supplier invoices, verify accuracy, and prepare payments (especially raw material suppliers).
- Issue customer invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Prepare aging reports and support credit control monitoring.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and internal SOPs.
- Support internal & external audits with required documents and explanations.
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts covering production, materials, and sales.
- Monitor budget utilization and report variances to management.
- Taxation
- Prepare and submit tax filings (Corporate Tax, GST, WHT, etc.).
- Ensure timely compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Cost Management & Process Improvement
- Track & analyze manufacturing costs to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Improve accounting workflows, reporting accuracy, and efficiency.
- Provide financial insights to production, procurement, and sales departments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or related field.
- Minimum 2 years experience (Manufacturing experience is a strong advantage).
- Proficient in SQL Accounting and MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
- High accuracy & attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations & compliance.
- Understanding of manufacturing cost accounting & inventory control.
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Fresh graduates with strong foundation are encouraged to apply.
