Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Account Manager to oversee all accounting matters and lead the accounting team in daily activities.

You will prepare budgets, forecasts, manage cash flow, and liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, and other stakeholders while ensuring compliance with financial policies. Mandarin proficiency is required, and collaboration with colleagues is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in an accounting role.
• Able to communicate in Mandarin.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Advanced skills in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and guide the accounting team in their daily activities.
• Provide guidance on complex financial issues.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and manage cash flow.
• Liaise with internal and external parties when necessary, such as auditors, tax agents, bankers, and others.
• Ensure accounting matters comply with financial policies and procedures.
• Screen employment candidates and conduct interviews.
• Report on actual financial performance against budget and previous years, explaining variances with facts and figures.
• Review and analyze monthly management accounts, ensuring monthly management reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
• Manage cash flow and ensure fund availability for payments and expenditures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
• Attend monthly meetings and present financial reports.
• Build relationships with clients to ensure project success.
• Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve goals and value‑creating objectives.
• Possess strong interpersonal, planning, organizational, problem‑solving, urgency, and decision‑making skills.
• Mentor Account Executives and the account team to ensure their accounting and analysis duties are performed effectively.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Ensure every expense is properly documented.
• Ensure the books of accounts are completed at the end of each month.
• Ensure the books of accounts are compiled at the end of each financial year.
