Job summary

Leader Energy in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to manage full spectrum accounting functions, financial reporting and support key finance operations in line with company policies and statutory requirements.

You will prepare monthly management accounts, oversee daily accounting activities from billing to bank reconciliations, generate monthly management reports, assist in annual budget planning and cash flow forecasting, and liaise with auditors and tax

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting is required.
• 1–4 years of accounting experience or related.
• Knowledge of audit, tax and compliance is preferred.
• Good command of English and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts in line with policies and tax regs.
• Oversee daily accounting operations: billing, collections, payments, reconciliations and bookkeeping.
• Generate monthly management reports and analyze variances.
• Support operational finance functions and budgeting processes.
• Assist in annual budget preparation and budget control/monitoring.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling full spectrum accounting functions, financial reporting, and supporting key finance operations in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts in compliance with company policies, approved accounting standards, and statutory tax regulations.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including billing, collection, claim verification, payments, fund transfers, bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and general bookkeeping.
• Generate monthly management reports, analyzing variances between actual performance, budget, and previous year’s results.
• Execute various operational finance functions, supporting day-to-day financial activities.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and support ongoing budget control and monitoring.
• Perform cash flow forecasting and ensure continuous monitoring and control of company liquidity.
• Assist with audit, tax, company secretarial, and banking matters, acting as liaison with external auditors, tax agents, and financial institutions.
• Review internal accounting and operational procedures, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Undertake ad-hoc assignments and projects as assigned by the Head of Department.

Qualifications/Requirement:

• Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• At least 1 - 4 years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge in prior audit, Microsoft Office and AutoCount will be added advantage.
• Has good command of English and is able to communicate effectively to various levels of people, internal and external.
• Able to work under pressure and proactively meet deadlines.
