Job summary

MB World Group Berhad in Malaysia seeks an Account Executive to manage the accounting portfolio for property development projects from Johor Bahru. You will handle full or partial sets of accounts, perform daily operations, and assist year-end closing.

You will work with project cost summaries, budgeting, payments to suppliers, and maintain records. Proficiency in MS Excel and property development software is preferred. This role requires attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Job description

We are looking for an Account Executive to join our team. The post is based at Johor Bahru and will be responsible for group accounting portfolio

Responsibilities

Handle full or partial sets of accounts for property development projects

Perform daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger

Prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing

Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions

2. Project Accounting & Cost Control

Monitor construction, consultancy, marketing, and operational expenses

Prepare project cost summaries and profitability analysis

3. Accounts Payable & Contractor Payments

Process supplier invoices, contractor progress claims, and consultant fees

Verify claims against contracts, approvals, and progress certificates

Prepare payment vouchers and manage payment schedules

Prepare monthly management accounts

Assist in year-end closing and audit preparation

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements

Prepare or assist in SST, income tax, and related statutory submissions

Maintain proper documentation and records for audit purposes

5. Financing & External Coordination

Assist in project financing matters, loan drawdowns, and banking documentation

Liaise with auditors, tax agents and regulatory bodies

6. System, Controls & Administration

Maintain accurate records in accounting and project costing systems

Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial procedures

Assist in improving accounting processes and reporting efficiency

Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience in property development or construction accounting preferred at least 2 years will be an advantage

Knowledge of project costing and progress billing is more advantage

Proficient in MS Excel and property development accounting software (MHW-KPA & Road Runner) is preferred

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
