Wah Seng Industry Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Account Executive for our Penang accounting team.

This full-time role based in Bukit Mertajam focuses on bookkeeping, client account management, and providing strategic financial guidance to a diverse client portfolio. You will prepare financial statements, assist with month-end processes, and help ensure tax compliance while upholding confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• A qualification in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field (diploma, degree or professional certification such as AAT, LCCI or equivalent).
• Proven experience in bookkeeping and small practice accounting, ideally with 2-4 years in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency with accounting software platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations and local accounting practices is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain accurate financial records for multiple client accounts, including ledger entries, reconciliations, and transaction processing.
• Prepare and review financial statements, trial balances, and other accounting reports in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and balanced.
• Liaise with clients to gather financial information, clarify discrepancies, and provide guidance on bookkeeping best practices.
• Monitor client tax compliance and assist with the preparation of tax-related documentation and returns.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive financial information in accordance with professional standards.
• Support the development and maintenance of client relationships through professional communication and reliable service delivery.
• Utilize accounting software and tools to streamline workflows and ensure data integrity.
