Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile financial transactions including invoices, payments and receipts.
• Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts and subsidiary records.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist in preparation of financial statements and monthly close procedures.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct account reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support audit activities and provide required documentation.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our financial accounting and reporting team. This is a full-time position based in Pekan Nanas, Johor. The Account Executive will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records and supporting the overall financial health of Aqina Fruits Sdn. Bhd. This position is essential to ensuring compliance with accounting standards and providing timely financial information to support business decision-making.

What you'll be doing

• Recording and reconciling financial transactions, including invoices, payments and receipts
• Preparing and maintaining general ledger accounts and subsidiary records
• Reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and monthly close procedures
• Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
• Conducting account reconciliations and investigating variances
• Supporting audit activities and providing supporting documentation as required
• Maintaining organised financial records and documentation
• Collaborating with other departments to resolve accounting queries and issues

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in financial accounting and reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
• Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Familiarity with the agricultural or manufacturing sector is preferred but not essential
