Job summary

Hartasuma Sdn Bhd, a pioneer in Malaysia's local rail industry, seeks an Account Executive to manage full sets of accounts and related finance tasks in Kuala Lumpur. You will handle AP/AR, monthly closures, consolidations, intercompany reconciliations, and tax/regulatory reporting while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in financial accounting, familiarity with SST, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Proficient with MYOB/ABSS accounting software.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience; fresh graduates considered.
• Familiar with Malaysian tax laws including SST.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain full sets of accounts and financial statements.
• Handle AP/AR functions, invoices, payments, and receipts.
• Ensure all transactions are properly recorded incl. journal entries.
• Perform monthly and year-end closing processes.
• Consolidate financial statements across subsidiaries.
• Prepare intercompany reconciliations and staff claims.
• Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with Malaysian laws (SST, corporate tax).
• Assist in regulatory reporting for government bodies.
• Assist in company secretarial documentation matters.
• Perform bank, receivable, and payable reconciliations.
• Work independently with minimal supervision; handle ad-hoc duties.

Job description

Full Set of Accounts Management: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements

Perform AP/AR functions, including supplier invoices, processing payments, and receipts

Ensure all transactions are properly recorded including journal entries

Perform monthly and year-end account closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

Perform consolidation of financial statements across subsidiaries

Prepare intercompany reconciliations and manage staff claims

Taxation and Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and file all relevant tax returns in compliance with Malaysian tax laws, including SST, corporate tax,

Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports for government agencies and statutory bodies.

Assist in company secretarial documentation matters

Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliation of bank accounts, receivables, and payables to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.

Independent Working & Reporting: Work independently with minimal supervision to manage all accounting operations.

Take ownership of accounting issues and ensure they are resolved promptly. Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the reporting officer.

Job Requirement for Account Executive

2. Have knowledge in MYOB/ABSS accounting software

3. Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience in financial accounting, fresh graduates will be considered

4. Familiarity with Malaysian taxation laws and requirements such as e-invoicing & SST filing
