Job summary

VAT Vakuumventile AG in Malaysia seeks an IT Operations Technician to provide continuous support for production, offices and shopfloor systems. You will handle incidents, monitor dashboards, and collaborate with engineers to maintain uptime.

The role requires a Diploma in IT and a willingness to work a 24/7 rotating schedule, including nights and weekends. Experience with Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware peripherals and basic networking is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Information Technology or related field.
• Experience in IT production operations; familiarity with computer hardware, OS, software and peripherals.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 rotating shift including nights, weekends and holidays.
• CompTIA A+ certification is a nice-to-have.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous IT operational support according to rotating shift schedule.
• Monitor and respond to IT incidents affecting production, shopfloor, offices and critical services.
• Ensure IT support is available outside normal hours per roster.
• Provide support during critical incidents, outages, ramp-ups or continuity events.
• Assist production lines, shopfloor PCs, terminals, scanners, printers and peripherals.
• Coordinate with production leaders, engineers and IT teams during incidents.
• Install, configure, replace, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, production PCs, monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, scanners, printers.
• Perform device setup using standards and deployment procedures.
• Diagnose hardware faults and coordinate repair or replacement.
• Follow approved access change processes and escalate privileged requests.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting for network, VPN, Wi-Fi, and connectivity issues.
• Check cables, IP configuration and basic reachability; monitor dashboards and queues.
• Support incident coordination with logs, screenshots and feedback.
• Complete a structured handover at shift end.
• Review open tickets with incoming technician and communicate critical systems and workarounds.
