Data and Analytics Lead Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and technically skilled Data and Analytics Lead to drive the development and execution of our data strategy. This role involves leading a team of data professionals to deliver actionable insights, enhance data infrastructure, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

The ideal candidate combines strong leadership capabilities with deep technical knowledge in analytics, data engineering, and business intelligence. You will play a pivotal role in transforming data into a strategic asset, guiding stakeholders through a data-driven culture, and ensuring scalable, efficient data solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Strategy: Define and execute the organization’s data and analytics strategy in alignment with business goals. Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of data analysts, engineers, and scientists. Collaborate with C-level executives, department heads, and product owners to define data needs and analytics priorities.
  • Data Management & Analytics: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and BI platforms. Build and maintain dashboards and reporting systems to monitor KPIs and business performance. Translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders using storytelling and visualization.
  • Governance & Quality: Ensure data quality, integrity, privacy, and compliance with data governance policies. Establish standards for data collection, storage, access, and usage across the organization.
  • Technology & Innovation: Evaluate and implement tools and technologies for analytics, data integration, and visualization. Stay current on industry trends in AI/ML, data engineering, and emerging analytics techniques. Drive automation and advanced analytics initiatives (e.g., predictive modeling, segmentation, recommendation systems).
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional Experience: 6–10+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering roles. At least 2–4 years in a leadership or team lead capacity. Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of SQL, Python or R. 3-5 years of experience implementing data transformation pipelines using AWS solutions like Amazon Glue, Amazon Redshift, Amazon DMS, Amazon Event Bridge. Experience with modern data stack tools (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, DBT, Airflow). Proficiency with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and data storytelling skills. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and stakeholder management abilities. A collaborative mindset and the ability to mentor and grow a high-performing team.
