Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Transportation Analyst in our supply chain organization to analyze, develop, and manage transportation plans that optimize cost and service across manufacturing and distribution networks.

You will coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and facilities to ensure efficient freight movements by air, ocean, ground, parcel, and cross-border modes, while monitoring performance data and driving improvements.

Formación

  • Minimum of 3 years in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Knowledge of international freight, customs, and cross-border processes
  • Fluent English (Intermediate to Advanced)
  • Strong analytical, planning, and communication skills

Responsabilidades

  • Manage domestic and international freight movements across ground, air, ocean, parcel, and cross-border transportation networks.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, freight forwarders, and customers to ensure efficient transportation execution.
  • Monitor transportation performance through KPIs such as OTP, OTD, lead times, shipment visibility, and carrier performance.
  • Analyze transportation data and identify opportunities to improve service, reduce costs, optimize transit times, and enhance network efficiency.
  • Provide transportation carrier updates and RCCAs to internal customer facilities and dealers.
  • Manage carrier relationships, support transportation procurement activities, and lead corrective actions to resolve operational issues and improve performance.
  • Participate in value stream activities or RIW as needed.

Role

Analyzes, develops, and manages transportation plans to control the movement of commodities throughout manufacturing and distribution networks, ensuring operational continuity, service excellence, and optimal transportation cost performance. Responsible for overseeing domestic and international freight movements across air, ocean, ground, parcel, and cross-border transportation modes while driving process improvements and carrier performance.

What You’ll Do

Manage domestic and international freight movements across ground, air, ocean, parcel, and cross-border transportation networks. Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, freight forwarders, and customers to ensure efficient transportation execution.

  • Monitor transportation performance through key metrics, including On-Time Pickup (OTP), On-Time Delivery (OTD), lead times, shipment visibility, and carrier performance.
  • Manage transportation carrier performance metrics for all movements including international shipments i.e. Dray to/from Mexico Ports.
  • Analyze transportation data and identify opportunities to improve service, reduce costs, optimize transit times, and enhance network efficiency.
  • Provide transportation carrier updates and RCCA’s to internal customer facilities and dealers.
  • Manage carrier relationships, support transportation procurement activities, and lead corrective actions to resolve operational issues and improve overall transportation performance.
  • Participate and take leadership role in value stream activities or Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIW) as needed.
Education Required

Completed University Degree related to a Supply Chain field of choice Fluent English (Intermediate to Advanced)

  • Analytics & Problem Solving Strong analytical skills with experience tracking transportation KPIs, costs, and carrier performance.
  • Planning & Organization Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • Communication & Collaboration Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to work effectively with carriers, suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Accountability & Adaptability Results-driven with strong ownership and decision-making capabilities. Adaptable to changing business needs and operational priorities.

This position requires availability to work Monday through Friday. This vacancy is 100% face-to-face and the location is San Luis Potosi Relocation Assistance is not available for this position.
