Caterpillar Inc. is recruiting for a Transportation Planning professional in San Luis Potosí on a full-time, on-site basis. You will analyze, develop, and manage transportation plans across domestic and international networks to ensure continuity, quality service, and optimized costs.

You will collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and customers to ensure efficient execution of transportation activities. The role requires 3+ years in logistics, a supply chain degree, and fluent English.

Formación

• Completed University Degree in a Supply Chain field.
• Fluent English (Intermediate to Advanced).
• Minimum of 3 years in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Experience with international freight, customs, and cross-border transportation processes.

Responsabilidades

• Manage domestic and international freight movements across ground, air, ocean, parcel, and cross-border networks.
• Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, freight forwarders, and customers to ensure efficient transportation execution.
• Monitor transportation performance through KPIs such as OTP, OTD, lead times, shipment visibility, and carrier performance.
• Manage carrier performance metrics for all movements including international shipments (Dray to/from Mexico Ports).
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities to improve service, reduce costs, and optimize transit times.
• Provide carrier updates and RCCAs to internal facilities and dealers.
• Manage carrier relationships, support procurement activities, and lead corrective actions to resolve issues.
• Participate and lead RIW or value stream activities as needed.

Role

Analyzes, develops, and manages transportation plans to control the movement of commodities throughout manufacturing and distribution networks, ensuring operational continuity, service excellence, and optimal transportation cost performance. Responsible for overseeing domestic and international freight movements across air, ocean, ground, parcel, and cross-border transportation modes while driving process improvements and carrier performance.

What You\'ll Do

• Manage domestic and international freight movements across ground, air, ocean, parcel, and cross-border transportation networks.
• Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, freight forwarders, and customers to ensure efficient transportation execution.
• Monitor transportation performance through key metrics, including On-Time Pickup (OTP), On-Time Delivery (OTD), lead times, shipment visibility, and carrier performance.
• Manage transportation carrier performance metrics for all movements including international shipments i.e. Dray to/from Mexico Ports.
• Analyze transportation data and identify opportunities to improve service, reduce costs, optimize transit times, and enhance network efficiency.
• Provide transportation carrier updates and RCCA’s to internal customer facilities and dealers.
• Manage carrier relationships, support transportation procurement activities, and lead corrective actions to resolve operational issues and improve overall transportation performance.
• Participate and take leadership role in value stream activities or Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIW) as needed.

Education Required

• Completed University Degree related to a Supply Chain field of choice
• Fluent English (Intermediate to Advanced)

• Proven ability to work effectively with carriers, suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams.

• Adaptable to changing business needs and operational priorities.
