Vertiv in Monterrey, Mexico, seeks a Thermal Engineer to support New Product Development and product sustaining tasks for Global Rack & Edge Thermal products.

The role involves modeling, simulation, lab verification, and collaboration with mechanical and electrical teams to design HVAC controls, piping, and heat exchangers, with emphasis on strong English communication.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in thermal or mechanical engineering required.
• 5+ years designing refrigeration systems (DX/CW).
• Strong thermal/mechanical concepts and CAD basics.
• Experience with testing procedures and lab validation.
• Proficient in English communication.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical support to internal Vertiv functions.
• Support NPD and product sustaining tasks for Thermal products.
• Model and simulate with HVAC software; verify with lab tests.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams on HVAC design.
• Perform lab tests and troubleshoot thermal issues.
• Guide technicians and other engineers on thermal problems.

Job Description

The Thermal Engineer supports New Product Development and product sustaining tasks for the company’s Global Rack & Edge Thermal products.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to internal Vertiv functions
• Understands the products, suggesting ideas and improvements back to group.
• Supports analysis through mathematical modeling, HVAC software, and simulation for New Product Development
• Works to verify Simulation with lab testing. Build confidence in calculated data with empirical support
• Work with Mechanical and electrical team to properly design all HVAC controls, piping and heat exchangers.
• Performs lab testing of products.
• Works closely with technicians other engineers, providing technical support and guidance to thermal problems.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor of Science in Thermal or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Requirements

• 5 + Years of engineering on DX and CW Refrigeration system development/Design.
• Must be capable to have comprehensive understanding of the Refrigeration system so a design or selection of its components can be done from scratch.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and Thermal design concepts.
• Ability to follow, create, and organize testing and instructional procedures.
• Basic mechanical CAD tools experience primarily for review of thermal designs.
• Ability to open, simply and import models into CDF software
• Experience with thermal Design software such as Refprop, Icepak, Flotherm or equivalent analysis package.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and logically.
• Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and operate in cross functional Global Development Teams.
• Fluency in English
