A leading global technology provider in Santa Catarina, Mexico, seeks an experienced Technical Proposal Engineer. In this role, you will develop sales proposals, collaborate with sales teams, and conduct cost estimates for steel mill equipment projects. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and possess at least 2 years of experience in Mechanical Design or Proposal Creation. Formación

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Mechanical Design, Proposal Creation and/or Cost Estimation.
• Experience in order management, preferably in an international environment.

Responsabilidades

• Develop Sales proposals for the Sales Groups.
• Obtain full details of project inquiry from the Sales Groups and customer personnel.
• Initiate meetings to determine financial and technical viability.
• Obtain cost estimates for production and engineering.
• Perform cost and price calculations to maintain expected gross margin.
• Consult product line Service Groups for equipment revisions.
• Attend meetings to explain and complete proposals.
• Create and maintain a financial database of proposal costs.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.

About the Role

The Technical Proposal Engineer develops Sales Proposals and makes cost and price budgetary decisions based on developed scopes of work for new and used steel mill equipment. Works with the Sales Groups, Sales Project Management, Purchasing Department and the Production Department.

Responsibilities:

• Develop Sales proposals for the Sales Groups
• Obtain full details of project inquiry from the Sales Groups and from customer personnel
• Initiate meeting with the Sales Project Management and the Production Department to determine the financial and technical viability of the proposed scope of work
• Obtain cost estimates for production, spare components, and relative engineering
• Perform cost and price calculations, to maintain an expected gross margin set by Service management
• Consult with product line Service Groups to evaluate equipment revisions or upgrades
• Attend meetings with the Sales Representative and under own supervision as required to explain, revise, and complete the proposal for presentation to the customer
• Create and maintain a financial database of proposal costs and pricing
• Domestic and international travel is required (10%-15%)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Mechanical Design, Proposal Creation and/or Cost Estimation, order management, preferably in an international environment.

Required Skills:

• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• A desire to work in a Steel Industry Service Center environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a "Team Player" mindset
• Experience and familiarity with Microsoft Excel and financial spreadsheet
