Job summary

Schneider Electric in Querétaro, Mexico is seeking a Customer Project Buyer to lead sourcing and supplier strategies for large customer projects from bidding through execution. You will work across Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to ensure competitive sourcing and on-time delivery.

The role requires 5+ years in procurement, strong negotiation and analytical skills, advanced Excel, and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, procurement, engineering, business, industrial engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, or project procurement.
• Experience supporting procurement for large enterprise customers with high-volume demand.
• Proven supplier negotiations with measurable impact.
• Ability to work on complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of sourcing strategies and procurement processes.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Advanced Excel and ERP systems proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities throughout the customer project lifecycle from quotation to delivery.
• Develop sourcing strategies to improve competitiveness, profitability, and delivery.
• Manage supplier selection, RFIs/RFQs, negotiations and evaluations.
• Analyze BOMs to identify cost reductions and productivity gains.
• Drive value engineering and supplier change initiatives to improve margins.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Category Management, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams.
• Identify supplier and supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Coordinate supplier performance for critical project phases.
• Participate in project reviews, governance meetings, and status updates.
• Ensure data accuracy in procurement systems and digital tools.
