Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Business Finance Director for Latin America & Canada (LAC) based in Mexico City. In this role, you will lead regional financial planning, governance, and performance, partnering with senior leaders to drive profitability and long-term growth across the region.

You will translate complex financial information into actionable business recommendations, mentor finance teams, and champion transformation initiatives while traveling up to 25% to support widespread operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• 10-15+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles.
• Experience in Healthcare, Diagnostics, Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, or related industries preferred.
• Proven experience supporting regional organizations or large international business units.
• Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and executive-level influencing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial information into clear business recommendations.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.
• Experience leading transformation, process improvement, and performance management initiatives.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor to GM and leadership, influencing regional strategies.
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance management.
• Drive reviews, identify risks/opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Partner with global, regional, and affiliate leaders to deliver growth and profitability.
• Lead initiatives on productivity, cost optimization, working capital, and process improvements.
• Champion finance transformation, digital enablement, and BI initiatives.
• Ensure strong financial governance, compliance, and internal controls.
• Develop and mentor finance talent across the region.
