Job summary

Abbott in Mexico City (Tlalpan) seeks a Business Finance Director for Latin America & Canada to lead financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision making for a USD 100M regional business.

This senior role partners with the General Manager and regional leaders to drive growth, optimize profitability, and ensure strong governance, controls, and talent development across the region.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of progressive finance experience with leadership in multinational organizations.
• Healthcare, Diagnostics, Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, or related industries preferred.
• Experience supporting regional organizations or large international business units.
• Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and executive-level influencing skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted strategic advisor to the General Manager and Leadership Team, influencing business decisions and growth strategies across the region.
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance management processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Drive business reviews, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to improve financial performance.
• Partner with global, regional, and affiliate leaders to deliver sustainable growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
• Lead initiatives focused on productivity, cost optimization, working capital management, and continuous process improvement.
• Champion finance transformation, digital enablement, automation, and business intelligence initiatives.
• Ensure strong financial governance, compliance, internal controls, and effective risk management.
• Develop and mentor high-performing finance talent, strengthening organizational capabilities and succession planning across the region.
