Definity, a leading technology company based in Mexico, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to work on a mission-critical project with a top automotive company in Austin, Texas. The candidate will lead end-to-end projects, deliver high-quality code, and mentor other engineers while ensuring strong communication and collaboration across teams.

A minimum of 3 years in backend development and a Bachelor’s degree are required, along with expertise in Go. This position offers relocation and TN Visa sponsorship.

Formación

• 3+ years of professional experience in backend or server-side development.
• Minimum 1 year of recent hands-on experience with Go.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale projects in Go, Java, C++, Rust, or similar languages.
• Very strong understanding of backend fundamentals including SQL databases, networking, and security.
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives from concept to production.
• Advanced English.

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join a mission-critical project with a leading automotive company in Austin, Texas.

Important Considerations

• Relocation to the United States, Austin, Texas is required, TN Visa sponsorship provided
• This opportunity is open to candidates based in Mexico with a valid Mexican passport and an active visa (tourist or otherwise)
• Bachelor's degree and professional license (cédula profesional)

What You Bring

• 3+ years of professional experience in backend or server-side development
• Minimum 1 year of recent hands‑on experience with Go
• Proven track record delivering large-scale projects in Go, Java, C++, Rust, or similar languages
• Very strong understanding of backend fundamentals including SQL databases, networking, and security
• Comfortable with frontend technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS) and at least one modern framework such as React, Angular, or Svelte
• Proficiency in rigorous software development practices including version control, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives from concept to production
• Advanced English

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, industrial tech, or enterprise systems
• Familiarity with REST or gRPC API design
• Background working with production‑critical systems and on‑call rotations
