About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead to join our growing engineering team. This role is primarily focused on backend engineering, leading the design and development of scalable, high-performance microservices that power our Customer Social product. While backend expertise is essential, experience with frontend technologies is highly desirable as our platform continues to evolve.

As a Tech Lead, you will provide technical leadership across the team, drive architectural decisions, establish engineering best practices, mentor developers, and ensure successful delivery of business-critical initiatives. You will be expected to balance strategic thinking with hands-on development while collaborating closely with Product, Engineering Management, and cross-functional teams to shape the future of our SaaS platform.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, reliable, and high-performing software solutions.
• Define and drive the technical roadmap, architecture, and engineering standards for the team.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, fostering growth, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
• Review designs, code, and technical solutions to ensure scalability, maintainability, and quality.
• Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Own end-to-end delivery for key initiatives, ensuring successful execution and operational excellence.
• Identify technical risks, system bottlenecks, and process improvements, and drive mitigation strategies.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex production issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventative solutions.
• Champion best practices in software development, CI/CD, testing, observability, and cloud-native development.
• Serve as the technical subject matter expert for one or more critical platform components.
• Participate in on-call rotations and support production systems when required.

Expertise You Bring

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience in technical leadership roles.
• Proven experience designing and building enterprise-grade applications within distributed microservices architectures.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java development and modern backend frameworks.
• Experience leading technical design discussions and architectural decision-making.
• Demonstrated experience working with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, design patterns, and system design principles.
• Experience with SQL databases and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience working with Node.js.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• English proficiency, both written and verbal.
• Ability to influence technical direction across teams and stakeholders.
• Proven mentoring and coaching skills.
• Strong decision-making and prioritization capabilities.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Passion for building high-performing engineering teams and scalable software solutions.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.
• Experience building and maintaining React (TypeScript) applications.
• Proficiency with Gradle for build and dependency management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives across teams.
• Ownership mindset with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Experience with functional programming concepts.
• AWS cloud experience and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience working in Agile environments with globally distributed teams.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar platforms.
