Job summary

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions seeks a Sr. Observability Engineer in Mexico to help customers set up TGCS software and hardware, enable telemetry for logging, monitoring and tracing, and guide observability dashboards and metrics on their stack.

You will design reliable telemetry, optimize dashboards, and work with customers and developers to troubleshoot and improve performance; strong Java and microservices experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS/Software Engineering.
• 6+ years of professional software development or L3 support with Java.
• Experience with microservices and cloud-based architectures.
• Strong problem-solving and self-drive.
• Ability to write well-designed, testable code and debug efficiently.
• Ability to triage, document, and provide root-cause analysis for issues.

What will you bring to the team.

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Sr. Observability Engineer, who will be assisting the customers setup TGCS SW and HW, enable telemetry for logging, monitoring and tracing, help guide customers with observability dashboard and metrics - using customer's own stack.

Naturally to be successful in this role, you must have and know of:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• At least 6 years of professional experience in Software Development or L3 support roles using Java.
• Experience in microservices architectures, including cloud/web-based content.
• Strong problem-solving skills and self-driven.
• Performance-driven mindset and ability to identify and meet KPIs.
• Capable of writing well-designed, testable, and efficient code and troubleshooting/debugging current applications.
• Can quickly triage and document and provide root cause analysis for customer reported issues.
• Experience communicating at different technical levels, from the application architects to the end user.
• Tech stack: Java, Spring, SpringBoot, Git, Maven, Docker, MongoDB, CI/CD pipelines, experience with cloud.

Preferred skills:

• Experience working with international customers.
• Familiarity with retail applications.
• Selenium/Cucumber.
