Vertiv is seeking a manufacturing engineer in Mexicali responsible for defining processes and readiness, including layouts, line balance, and tooling. You will drive equipment selection and capital justification while tracking KPIs such as scrap, changeover, and standard hours.

This role emphasizes cost reduction, lean implementation, and safety. You will lead root cause analyses and corrective actions, perform training on critical operations, and continuously improve layouts and processes

Formación

• Engineering degree in industrial, mechanical, aerospace or automotive fields.
• +5 years experience in metal forming processes.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred.
• CAD fluent: SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA or ProE.
• GD&T blueprint reading knowledge desired.

Responsabilidades

• Define process readiness: layout, line balance, cell design, tooling.
• Select equipment and justify capital investments.
• Track KPIs like scrap, changeover, and standard hours.
• Lead cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Implement lean systems and SMED.
• Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure safety, ergonomics, and operator training.
• Define and control layout for the business unit.

• Process Definition and Manufacturing Readiness with the following deliverables: Layout, Line Balance, Cell/Line Design, Material Presentation, Tooling and Fixturing, Process Documentation, Training and FPY
• Equipment / Technology Selection and Capital Justification / Approval
• Business Unit and Functional KPI’s tracking and performance: Scrap, Operation Supplies, Change Over, Standard Hrs
• Cost Reduction Projects
• Lean / Operational System Implementation within Business Unit: Standard Work, SMED, Poke-Yoke
• Root Cause Analysis, Preventive and Corrective Actions Implementation
• Safety & Ergonomics: Responsible to lead (in conjunction with functional team) Job Safety Analysis evaluation to detect, correct or mitigate safety risks and exposures
• Training & Development: Operations Training on critical operations, process definition, routing structure
• Continuous Improvement: Implement at least 1 improvement idea on a monthly basis – that impacts Cost, Quality or Safety
• Layout – Responsible to define and control the layout and distribution of his business unit

Qualifications

• Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace or Automotive Engineering degree
• +5 years of experience on Metal Mechanic Processes such as Punch Press, Bending, Forming, Welding, Brazing, Paint, Fastening, Assembly, Electronic or Harnesses processes.
• MRP / ERP
• Lean Manufacturing or Lean Practitioner
• Six Sigma – Green Belt or higher desired
• CAD fluent – Solidworks, Inventor, CATIA, ProE
• Blueprint Reading – GD&T Desired
• Core Tools
