Vertiv seeks an SFA Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design and release of electrical customizations for chillers. You will work in a cross-functional development group, handling diverse tasks and solving complex problems with limited precedents.

You will create wiring schematics, panel layouts, and wire harnesses, review BOMs, and collaborate on CRAC controls. The role emphasizes cost reduction, quality delivery, and support for service during field issues.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 2–4 years of electrical engineering experience required.
  • Strong documentation and drawing review capabilities.
  • Proven ability to deliver quality products through product development phases.

Responsabilidades

  • Create and revise unit wiring schematics and network drawings.
  • Create and review electric panel layouts following codes and standards.
  • Create and revise wire harnesses and BOMs.
  • Check and approve drawings and materials lists.
  • Collaborate with software team on CRAC system controls.
  • Assist development scientists with electrical customizations validation.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement changes.
  • Implement product changes to address field issues and support service.

Position Summary

The SFA (Special Feature Authorization) Electrical Engineer will contribute to the design and release of customizations to chillers; will work in a cross-functional development group; managing a variety of tasks and activities are required in this dynamic environment; solve complex problems where no precedence exists.o precedence exists.

Responsibilities
  • Create and revise unit wiring schematics and network connection drawings
  • Create and review electric panel layouts following relevant codes and standards
  • Create and revise wire harnesses
  • Check and approve drawings and bill of materials
  • Work with software team to develop and verify CRAC system controls
  • Work with development scientist to validate setup of new electrical customizations
  • Participate in identification of cost reduction opportunities and in the design and development of cost reduction changes
  • Implement product changes to solve field issues, support service department
Qualifications
Minimum Job Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in an electrical engineering field.
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism
  • Ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members
  • Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development process
  • Excellent project management skills and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater
  • Knowledge of NEC (NFPA79), IEEE 519, UL 508A SB
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred 4-8 years of experience in an HVAC related electrical engineering field: experience with Chillers preferred
  • Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release)
  • Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production roles
  • Knowledge of UL60335-2-40 or equivalent CSA/UL standards
  • Understanding electrical schematic layout and creation
  • Experience with communications and interconnects standards and protocols including RS485, CAN, and Ethernet
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university
