Franklin Electric is seeking a manufacturing/process engineer to design, evaluate, and implement new production processes at our Linares facility in Mexico. You will act as a subject matter expert for key processes and lead capital projects from RFP to commissioning.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5–7 years of related experience, with a master’s degree optionally substituting experience. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams and mentor junior staff.

Responsabilidades

  • Design, evaluate, and implement new manufacturing processes and improvements.
  • Oversee capital acquisition projects, issue RFPs, obtain quotes, liaise with vendors.
  • Serve as SME for assigned manufacturing processes and provide high‑level technical analyses.
  • Develop concepts and designs for new processes and technologies.
  • Lead and manage existing process improvement projects; mentor junior engineers.
  • Provide engineering support for existing manufacturing processes as needed.
  • Qualify new vendors, components, and tooling; validate designs via sampling.

Description

Responsible for the design, evaluation, and implementation of new processes, process improvements, or projects to support manufacturing processes. Serves as a subject matter expert for manufacturing processes and capital asset acquisition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides cost estimates, capability estimates, and production recommendations for new products. Provides recommendations on where and how a product should be made using corporate resources.
  • Oversees capital acquisition projects by sending RFPs, obtaining quotes, and serving as a liaison between the plant and vendors. Provides advanced technical support for equipment.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for assigned manufacturing processes. Provides high-level technical analysis.
  • Develops concepts and designs new processes.
  • Manages existing process improvement projects.
  • Provides engineering support for existing manufacturing processes when needed.
  • Provides qualifications for new/alternate vendors, components, and tooling.
  • Validates process design via sampling procedures.
  • Performs process cost analysis.
  • Purchases major capital equipment and systems for both new processes implementation as well as current process maintenance.
  • Participates in a cross-functional and cross-cultural team environment.
  • Acts as a technical resource and a mentor for less experienced engineers.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

  • Uses complex and noncomplex machines and equipment.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (required).
  • Five to seven years of related experience (required).
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field could substitute for years of experience.
Computer Skills
  • Advanced: CAD software, complex analysis, project management, spreadsheet.
  • Basic: Word processing/typing, presentation/PowerPoint.
