is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer in the aerospace sector at our Tijuana facility. The role focuses on defining processes, creating MJI’s and production routers, and establishing labor standards to enable efficient, compliant manufacturing. The candidate will lead lean initiatives, perform failure analyses, DOE studies, and participate in MRB/SRB activities while coordinating with engineering for manufacturability improvements and new

Formación

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience with emphasis in electronic/wire harness assemblies.
  • 7–10 years Aerospace experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Proficient in GD&T and fixture design using 3D CAD software.
  • Strong lean knowledge with ability to coach a team and drive results.
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic component identification and function.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilidades

  • Define process instructions by creating, releasing and controlling Manufacturing Job Instructions (MJI’s).
  • Define operation sequences by producing Production Routers and maintain them in ERP standard library.
  • Establish and document labor time standards for each operation.
  • Document production requirements via production specifications.
  • Implement and maintain SPC for production processes.
  • Review and write assembly and process procedures with improvements when needed.
  • Suggest improvements to tooling, machinery, processes and drawings.
  • Participate in MRB dispositions with corrective/preventive actions.
  • Support SRB through supplier qualification and team participation.
  • Develop feasibility studies for equipment purchases and ROI data.
  • Conduct failure analysis, DOE, tolerance studies and value stream mapping.
  • Improve scrap cost awareness and yield variance through cost analysis and corrective actions.
  • Engage in equipment assembly and testing processes.
  • Read complex schematics and use test equipment for troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) and advise on manufacturability improvements.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Defines process instructions by creating, releasing and controlling Manufacturing Job Instructions (MJI’s).
  • Defines sequence of operations by creating, releasing and controlling Production Routers. Maintains routers in standard library of operations in ERP system.
  • Establishes and documents labor time standards for each operation in the standard library.
  • Documents production process requirements by creating production specifications.
  • Implements and maintains Statistical Process Controls (SPC) of production processes.
  • Reviews and writes assembly and process procedures, including detailed production station instructions and visual aids. Recommends changes when necessary.
  • Examines and suggests improvements to tooling, machinery, processes, specifications, procedures, drawings, etc.
  • Actively participates in Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions, which include corrective and preventive action where applicable.
  • Provides support for Supplier Review Board (SRB) through active participation in team activities and supplier qualification and support.
  • Develops feasibility studies relating to the purchase of special equipment/machines and initiates Return on Investment (ROI) and cost reduction support data.
  • Will conduct failure analysis, tolerance studies, Design of Experiments (DOE), value stream maps, etc.
  • Provides leadership through improved awareness of scrap cost and production yield variance impact through cost analysis and makes recommendations for the appropriate corrective/preventive actions.
  • Actively participates in the equipment assembly and test process
  • Understands how to read complex schematics and use test equipment for troubleshooting product
  • Participates in the New Product Introduction Process (NPI) and recommends potential design improvements for improved manufacturability to engineering
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering discipline or equivalent experience with emphasis in electronic/wire harness assemblies
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of Aerospace experience in Manufacturing Engineering
  • Strong proficiency in GD&T and proven experience designing assembly fixtures utilized for manufacturing and assembly processes, utilizing 3D CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of lean and capabilities to drive, teach, coach a team, direct reports, and others
  • Must have knowledge of electrical and electronic component identification and function.
  • Must have strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to lead Lean Kaizen events
  • Strong people skills, engagement with peers, management and others
  • High growth potential within the organization and the ability to train other employees the above mentioned skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills are essential.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good understanding of the PFEMA and DFEMA process
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Should be able to travel domestically and internationally with short notice
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Experience in reading schematics, point to point wiring, complex assembly drawings and procedures, and repair manuals.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks CAD platforms
  • Completion of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-A-610 or equivalent certificate in J-STD-001
  • Familiar with the application of Statistical Process Control tools.
  • Working knowledge of key lean manufacturing principles and applications
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certificate
  • Working knowledge of Syteline ERP system
