Molex, a Koch company, is seeking a Sourcing Engineer in Mexico to support automotive electronics manufacturing. You will coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and Operations to secure materials, drive supplier performance, and optimize costs while maintaining supply continuity.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in sourcing within manufacturing, strong supplier relationships, and advanced English for global collaboration.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • 3+ years in sourcing/procurement or supply chain in manufacturing.
  • Experience with electrical/mechanical/electronic/component categories.
  • Advanced English with global suppliers and stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and Operations to support serial production sourcing.
  • Manage supplier relationships for cost, capacity, lead times and supply continuity.
  • Lead negotiations and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sourcing processes and supplier performance.
  • Collaborate to mitigate supply risks and address material shortages affecting production.
  • Support category strategy execution aligned with plant priorities.
  • Drive supplier negotiations, value engineering and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address risks related to capacity, delivery, and quality.
  • Coordinate with Global Supplier Quality and Plant Quality teams on issues and audits.
  • Continuously seek innovative sourcing practices and long-term value creation.

As a Sourcing Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting profitable and uninterrupted mass production by managing sourcing strategies, supplier performance, and material availability. You will partner closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure customer commitments are met while driving cost optimization, supplier development, and supply continuity. This role offers an excellent opportunity to expand your business acumen, strengthen supplier management expertise, and contribute directly to the success of our automotive electronics products.

Our Team

You will join our sourcing team supporting operations, where we manufacture automotive antennas, USB modules, and wireless charging solutions. Our team works closely with global suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure materials are available, costs remain competitive, and customer expectations are consistently met. This is a highly collaborative environment where strong partnerships and problem-solving capabilities are valued. Based on the hiring manager's input, the team is looking for someone interested in the products we manufacture and motivated to build strong supplier relationships.

What You Will Do
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to support sourcing activities throughout serial production.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure competitive costs, capacity availability, lead-time performance, and continuity of supply.
  • Drive negotiations and commercial discussions with suppliers while ensuring compliance with internal procurement policies.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve sourcing processes, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate supply risks and resolve material shortages that may impact production.
  • Support category strategy execution and align sourcing activities with business objectives and plant priorities.
  • Lead supplier negotiations, value engineering initiatives, and cost-reduction opportunities that improve business results.
  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively address risks related to capacity, delivery, quality, and commercial commitments.
  • Work with Global Supplier Quality and Plant Quality teams to address supplier performance issues and support audit activities.
  • Continuously seek innovative sourcing practices and supply chain improvements that create long-term value for the business.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing suppliers within electrical, mechanical, electronic, plastic, or metal component categories.
  • Experience working within supply chain, procurement, or sourcing functions supporting production operations.
  • Advanced English proficiency with the ability to communicate effectively with global suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across multiple functions to resolve supply challenges.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal business partners.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Automotive industry procurement experience.
  • Experience sourcing electronic components such as PCBs, capacitors, resistors, inductors, diodes, or related technologies.
  • Experience sourcing injection-molded plastic components, resins, die-cast, stamped, or fabricated metal materials.
  • Experience managing supplier shortages, capacity constraints, commercial escalations, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Proven negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Experience working with suppliers located in Asia and North America.
