Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas seeks a Sommelier Assistant Manager to lead the wine program, manage cellar operations, and elevate guest experiences with expert pairings and service excellence.

You will develop the wine program, train the service team, and partner with outlets for premium beverage offerings in a luxury resort setting.

Formación

• Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
• Minimum 3 years in Food & Beverage, supervisory level preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in a luxury hotel or high-end dining environment.
• Sommelier experience or equivalent in F&B.
• Strong knowledge of wine regions, varietals and pairings.
• Certifications such as CMS, WSET or equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Provide expert wine guidance, pairings, and premium beverage recommendations.
• Ensure service execution with proper temperatures, glassware, and guest interaction.
• Oversee wine cellar management: inventory, cost control, and storage standards.
• Drive wine program performance: menu curation, supplier coordination, sales strategy.
• Train and support service team with wine education, tastings, and events.

About the role of Sommelier Assistant Manager

The Sommelier Assistant Manager is responsible for managing the resort’s wine and specialty beverage offerings, ensuring expert, personalized, and high‑level service. Their mission is to elevate the guest’s dining experience through professional recommendations, efficient cellar management, and ongoing training for the service team.

What you will do:

• Provide expert wine guidance — including pairings, premium beverages, and personalized recommendations aligned with guest preferences and each outlet’s menu.
• Ensure exceptional service execution — proper wine temperatures, correct glassware, prompt handling of special requests, and warm, knowledgeable guest interaction.
• Oversee full wine cellar management — inventory control, cost monitoring, product availability, storage standards, and maintaining an organized, secure cellar.
• Drive wine program performance — strategic sales management, menu curation, trend evaluation, supplier coordination, and maintaining a competitive, high‑quality wine portfolio.
• Train and support the service team — conducting wine education, reinforcing standards during service, and leading tastings, pairings, and special wine events.

What you bring:

• Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Food & Beverage, preferably in a supervisory or department‑head capacity.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a luxury hotel or similar high‑end dining environment.
• Previous Sommelier experience or similar roles within Food & Beverage.
• Strong knowledge of Micros; familiarity with Opera is an asset.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, health regulations, and responsible alcohol service.
• Basic understanding of financial principles (labor cost, P&L, inventory, cost control).
• Proficiency in operating standard computer systems and POS platforms.
• Professional wine certifications such as Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET, or equivalent.
• In‑depth knowledge of wine regions, varietals, winemaking processes, and global market trends.
• Understanding of food pairing principles, gastronomy, basic mixology, and international wine portfolios.
