Intel Corporation is seeking a SoC Functional Validation Engineer in Guadalajara, Mexico, for a 2-year contract. You will define and execute functional validation plans, assess changes, and develop tests across PreSi and PostSi environments, collaborating with multiple teams to ensure silicon readiness.

The role emphasizes debugging, IP interactions, and validation coverage across simulation, emulation, and FPGA platforms, with a hybrid on-site/off-site work model in Mexico.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field.
  • 1+ years of Python scripting experience (OO).
  • Knowledge of SoC validation methodologies and debugging.
  • Strong CPU architecture fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ or C#.
  • Intermediate to advanced English.
  • Must have permanent right to work in Mexico.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform debug to identify root causes and triage failures.
  • Test SoC feature interactions using advanced validation tools.

  • Publish detailed validation reports for cross-team communication.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams to optimize validation strategies.
  • Create content to simulate IP interactions using microcode, firmware, or custom OS builds.
  • Validate across simulation, emulation, and FPGA environments.

SoC Functional Validation Engineer

As a SoC Functional Validation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Intel's next-generation products by ensuring the functionality, reliability, and performance of our integrated System-on-Chip (SoC) designs. This position enables you to work on cutting-edge technology while collaborating across architecture, design, verification, and platform teams to deliver world-class solutions. Your contributions will directly impact Intel's ability to deliver high-quality silicon to market, driving innovation and technological advancement. Please consider that this is a temporary position (2 years).

Responsibilities
  • Define, develop, and execute functional validation plans for integrated SoCs, focusing on validating IP integration, interaction between IPs, and system-level features, both in PreSi and PostSi environments.
  • Assess proposed design changes to evaluate their impact on validation plans and timelines.
  • Develop test content for the test cases to assure the quality of our SoC designs.
  • Perform debug activities to identify root causes and resolve all functional and triage failures for SoC issues.
  • Test interactions between SoC features using advanced validation infrastructure and methodologies.
  • Develop post-silicon validation tools to enhance testing capabilities.
  • Publish detailed SoC validation reports summarizing activities, results, and findings, ensuring effective communication with relevant teams.
  • Work closely with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams to optimize debug strategies and validation processes for SoC interfaces.
  • Develop content to simulate specific IP interactions using tools like microcode, firmware, or custom OS builds.
  • Engage in all phases of the product lifecycle, ensuring silicon readiness through validation in environments such as simulation, emulation, and FPGAs.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications, you must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
  • 1+ years of technology-related experience in: Python scripting, including object-oriented principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SoC validation methodologies and debugging techniques.
  • Strong understanding of CPU architecture fundamentals.
  • With C/C++ or C# programming.
  • Intermediate to Advanced English level.
  • Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Mexico (this position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship).

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
  • Experience in validation and debugging complex problems.
  • Knowledge of SoC micro-architecture and technology domains like Artificial Intelligence, Communication, PCIe, I2C, Security, Manageability, Power Management, and Memory technologies.
  • Familiarity with JTAG/ITP tools and software/hardware testing techniques.
  • Hands‑on experience with OS debug, kernel, and driver knowledge for Windows and/or Linux environments.
  • Exposure to container environments and advanced validation infrastructure development.
