Job summary

Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. is seeking aShould Cost Engineer to develop and enhance should cost models for die casting, stamping, and related metal components. You will act as SME for manufacturing processes, constructing detailed cost breakdowns and guiding VAVE projects.

You will leverage aPriori and advanced cost-management tools while supporting supplier negotiations. The role requires hands-on analysis of cost structures, feasibility studies, and reporting to business leaders, with

Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or similar.
M.S. in Engineering.
5+ years of experience in design engineering, production, operations or manufacturing.
3+ years of experience with cost model software, specifically aPriori.
Strong experience in manufacturing processes such as machining, forging, castings, plastic injection, sheet metal, aluminum extrusion, packaging, assembly.
Strong understanding of component cost structure and finance concepts (labor rates, machine rates, overheads, SG&A, profit).
Strong data analysis and dashboard skills (Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
Ability to create scorecards and dashboards from large data sets.

Responsibilities

Generate and update should cost models for all categories.
Develop and calibrate should cost models based on manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with sourcing, design engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain on assumptions.
Design to cost and implement cost optimization ideas with R&D.
Monitor global commodity impacts on cost models (material/labor).
Prepare detailed cost reports for management.
Support other CI initiative owners.
