Job summary

ABB’s Hoisting Service Team in Merida, Yucatan seeks an experienced field specialist to own the maintenance and service of mine hoist systems. You will work on-site focusing on electrical powertrain and controls, with opportunities to support installations and commissioning.

You will conduct inspections, troubleshoot complex failures, and advise customers on service solutions while maintaining safety and compliance. Travel to customer sites is expected to ensure reliability and uptime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Mine hoist systems knowledge is an asset.
• Excellent English communication, report writing, and customer interaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site maintenance programs for mine hoist systems.
• Provide on-site or remote technical support for installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Conduct hoisting system inspections and safety audits.
• Identify failures, troubleshoot complex equipment, and recommend corrective actions.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to customers and management.

You will learn and be involved on the complete hoisting system including mechanics and hydraulics with a specific focus on electrical powertrain and controls.The work model for the role is: #LI-OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Automation Process Industries division in Merida, Yucatan.You will be mainly accountable for:This role will be the key point of contact for all technical aspects after the system start-up as well as leading the maintenance program for the hoist systems.Providing on-site or remote technical support for installation and commissioning of equipment and routine maintenance independently, identifying technical problems and make analysis through remote or on-site activity in different Service categories.Conduction hoisting system inspections and audits to ensure proper operation and safety level of the system.Consulting with and advising customers on the best service solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures and safety guidelines.Identifying potential equipment failures and taking corrective actions, troubleshooting complex equipment failures, and making recommendations to avoid the problem in the future.Reporting work done in a timely manner and following up when needed.Making suggestions for product, quality, and customer service improvements, and discussing them with management.
