Job summary

Publicis Sapient is seeking a Senior or Senior Lead SQL Application Support Engineer to support production databases for a US client in investment management. You will investigate data discrepancies, troubleshoot incidents at the database level, and ensure overnight batch jobs and ETL processes run smoothly.

The role covers MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and Sybase, with emphasis on advanced SQL, performance tuning, and database programming.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL development skills with complex queries across large datasets.
• Experience root-cause analysis of data discrepancies and reconciliation issues.
• Ability to validate reports and build ad hoc SQL queries for business users.
• Familiarity with database tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plans.
• Experience developing stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views for production use.
• Experience providing production application and database incident support, including odd hours.

Responsibilities

• Investigate data discrepancies and reconciliation breaks in SQL.
• Troubleshoot incidents at the database level and support batch/ETL jobs.
• Ensure overnight processing runs smoothly for critical business cycles.
• Work with MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Sybase environments.
• Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, and views for production support.
