Zendesk is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Engineering & Integration Shared Services team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and deploying backend services and integrations across Zendesk products, emphasizing scalable microservices and cloud-native architectures.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in backend or integration engineering, strong Java, API design, and collaboration within Agile Scrum teams.

Formación

• 5+ years in backend or integration engineering, designing and developing scalable microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-based solutions.
• Advanced proficiency in Java (required); experience with Node.js or Python is a plus.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs, middleware, and event-driven microservices architectures.
• Fluency with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, SAM, Serverless Framework) or Azure/GCP.
• Expertise integrating SaaS applications (Salesforce, Zuora, NetSuite, Workday, Coupa) and ensuring seamless data flow across distributed systems.
• Strong background in unit, integration, and user acceptance testing; experience with code reviews and enforcing coding standards.
• Experience collaborating with DevOps teams for deployment, monitoring, and scaling.
• Proficient in Agile Scrum, with Jira and Confluence.
• Ability to document APIs, database schemas, and backend processes for maintainability.
• BA/BS in Computer Science, IT, or related field; fluent in English.

Responsabilidades

• Development & Implementation: Design, develop, document, test, and deploy standardized solutions using integration, automation, and middleware tools.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Develop and facilitate unit tests, conduct system integration testing, and support UAT to validate solutions.
• Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning & Daily Stand-ups: Participate in backlog grooming and sprint planning for a 2-week Agile Scrum sprint.
• AI and Innovation: Explore and implement AI/machine learning solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work with developers, IT owners, solution architects, and business analysts to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Retrospectives & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to sprint retrospectives to drive process improvements.
